RAUM SPACE Holystick design
Task
RAUM SPACE is an international festival of contemporary art held in December 2020 in Kaliningrad. The aim of the festival is to present the Kaliningrad art scene in a global context and to establish international connection between artists based in Kaliningrad and Berlin. The task was to create the clear understandable and elegant style that would mark the venues, unite different authors and be easily reproduced on the spot.
Ideas and solutions
The visual language is based on the metaphor of a bridge connecting cities and artists, online and offline. The main narrative for graphic and typographic solutions is the connection of the edges of the sheet with letters, syllables and lines. The idea of connecting cities is supported by screenshots of Kaliningrad and Berlin taken from Google maps placed on posters in pairs. The body of work for this festival included a website, Instagram, made a series of posters, merchandize (t-shirts, bags and masks), tape and flags with which branded exhibition spaces in the city, a leaflet with a map, a catalog and backgrounds for Zoom.
