Ideas and solutions
LG ThinQ appliances can do a huge number of household chores now. To emphasize the innovation of the system, we decided to contrast a modern smart home equipped with LG ThinQ with cleaning of a mansion in the 20th century. Indeed, just a hundred years ago, in order to free up time from housework, it was necessary to hire a butler, governesses, servants, and cooks. Today, technology can replace them all. We posted on the project an interactive performance from LG ThinQ about how housekeeping has changed since the beginning of the last century. The user could switch between the 20th century and the present time and watch clips in the genre of a “comedy in six acts.” Funny videos with a libretto and a plot gave a clear picture of how technology and devices changed — a smartphone, TV, and Alice replaced a personal butler and LG ThinQ replaced maid Sophia. To draw parallels between these things, the user could, while watching the video, switch between the centuries and watch how similar housework, from doing laundry to cooking, was done in the 20th and 21st centuries.
