Task

The goal of the project was to tell about the cozy Altai village of Basargino and invite users to visit this unusual settlement. Basargino is a private settlement where there is no mobile communication, but there is a modern spa complex, luxury cottages, a real Russian bath and natural food and meat from their own garden. My main task was to redesign an old site with an inconvenient structure, think over new logic and navigation between pages and design website with atmosphere of Altai.

Ideas and solutions

The main color of the website is saturated green — the color of the Altai Mountains. The second, contrasting one, is restrained gold. The client and I chose a dark palette to show a certain "premium" status of the village (a week's vacation in Basargino will cost an average of 100 thousand rubles; for comparison, the average monthly salary in Russia is 35 thousand rubles). An important element of the site is the Tupo Vyaz font (Alexandra Korolkova, Paratype), in the style of Old Church Slavonic calligraphy. It perfectly conveys the atmosphere of a modern Russian settlement, where they honor traditions and do manual labor. The main headings of the site are typed in this font. To simplify, Altai is a kind of "Russian India", where people go to rest their souls, meditate, and clear their thoughts. It was important for us to convey this special atmosphere through the design: for this we chose laconic typography, large photographs and neat “natural” transitions between blocks. We were limited in time, so the site was developed using the Tilda Publishing constructor. We first grab the user with an eye-catching home page, and then calmly talk about the village on simple internal pages that are assembled on building blocks of the constructor. The number of visitors for the last month — 5485 people (about 200 people per day).
